Vehicle production in Finland

Vehicle manufacturing industry and related areas employ almost 7 000 persons in Finland. Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki produces new passenger cars and Sisu-Auto Ltd in Karjaa heavy trucks. Additionally there are several smaller companies manufacturing buses, taxis, trailers and special vehicles.

Statistics about vehicles production in Finland until year 2014 are based on figures reported by the manufacturers. Since year 2015 passenger car statistics are based on foreign trade statistics of Finnish Customs and they include only exported production. Production figures of trucks are based on the statistics reported by the manufacturers.
